Fintech Cluster gets New Leader

The former head of customer experiences at Sbanken (Skandiabanken) and founder of Monobank will be the new head of NCE Finance Innovation.

NCE Finance Innovation currently has 100 member companies distributed among the largest cities in the country, and includes everything from start-up companies to academia and established financial players.

Bent Gjendem will now be the new cluster leader. He is a former head of customer experiences at Sbanken (Skandiabanken) and founder of Monobank. He has also been central in the establishment and development of the cluster since its inception in 2017, and has broad experience from both finance, technology and entrepreneurship, according to NCE Finance Innovation.

– We are very pleased that Bent has agreed to become the next cluster leader in NCE Finance Innovation. He was among the zealots who founded the cluster in his time, and knows the organization well. Bent has broad experience from the financial industry and is an inspiring and inclusive leader, says chairman of the board Bjørg Marit Eknes in a press release.

– NCE Finance Innovation has managed to create a unique environment for cooperation and openness between member companies that in several cases are also competitors, and I look forward to embarking on the work of further developing this, says Gjendem.

He has long worked closely with the cluster administration, and has good knowledge of the industry and the cluster’s work, and is now ready to further develop the organization’s strategy and position as the central fintech player in Norway, the report states.

Gjendem will formally take on the role on 1 August 2022.
