For over 60 years, Germany-based compliance firm ASC Technologies has provided compliance recording solutions to companies operating in highly regulated sectors, such as finance, healthcare, and government.
The company now serves approximately 50 companies in the Nordics, many of which are several household names.
“Our Nordic clients had been previously managed from our headquarters in Germany, but now we have people on the ground to serve the Nordic and Baltic regions from our new offices in Sweden,” says Emma Skygebjerg, Managing Director of ASC Nordics AB.
ASC’s niche service—compliance recording and archiving
In highly regulated environments, organizations must legally record certain customer-facing or advisory communications to comply with regulations. Such recordings must be stored for stipulated periods, be tamper-proof, retrievable for audits, and protected from unauthorized changes or deletion.
“We’ve significantly helped
them reduce their
exposure to reputational
risk, regulatory penalties,
and internal disciplinary
issues.”

Managing Director of ASC Nordics AB

This is ASC’s specialty. “ASC has over 60 years of experience in working with some of the world’s most demanding regulatory frameworks,” says Emma. “We’ve developed highly reliable compliance solutions that connect all channels for a ‘single pane of glass’ view of all company communications.”
The channels include email, messaging apps, text messages, video conferencing software, screen shares, and any other channel covered by the respective regulations.
Securely migrating on-prem communications to the cloud
A major challenge faced by companies is the need to securely move years of on-prem, call-center, or trading platform recordings into the cloud. ASC’s proprietary software achieves this task easily, which is why an established Nordic fintech partnered with the company to help them do this. The fintech has now fully transitioned its communications onto ASC’s cloud platform.

“Security was paramount. With our asymmetric key encryption and private endpoints, they’ve successfully migrated all legacy recordings—spanning two different recording systems—and now manage new call and Teams meeting recordings through our Recording Insights platform,” says Emma.
The next level: AI-powered violation detection
ASC automatically transcribes all communications, making it easier for companies to comply with auditing requirements. However, its AI Policy Engine has taken compliance recording to the next level, moving it from a passive to an active subject.
ASC’s rigorously trained AI can detect compliance issues in minutes, and across massive numbers of conversations, where the task would’ve been almost impossible for a human to do manually before.
Compliance violations might include forgetting to provide all proper disclaimers during a call, risk warnings for investment advice, or insider trading.
A Nordic-based asset management company is using the platform to screen communications against an extensive library of compliance and risk-related phrases. “By implementing our solution, we’ve significantly helped them reduce their exposure to reputational risk, regulatory penalties, and internal disciplinary issues,” says Emma.
With such a strong presence in the Nordics for so many years, ASC’s Sweden office represents the company’s commitment to better serving its local customers, while opening the door to more partnerships in a zone where its reputation is already well known as a reliable compliance partner.
