Fimento Unleashes Specialized AI Agents for Deeper Financial Insights

Fimento has been in the AI space since its inception in 2018 the same year Open Banking arrived in Europe through PSD2.

By combining the finance sector’s proven numerical AI with the versatility of modern language models, Fimento has built something far more powerful: agents that can almost think on their own.

Fimento’s agentic AI setup is an ecosystem of specialized, purpose-built agents that orchestrate and cross-validate data from multiple open finance sources: consent-based transaction data, corporate registers, credit registers, open accounting, customer-provided data, credit scoring, and media coverage to deliver transparent, auditable insights for complex financial decisions.

“The agents are highly specialized to avoid hallucinations through narrow expertise and mutual cross-checking, with full logging for traceability and explainability,” says Lotta Domonkos, CEO at Fimento.

Fimento’s clients are companies that must assess risk and increasingly, that means the financial health of other businesses. Real estate companies are using Fimento’s agents to take controlled risk in a fairer way, renting out more properties without compromising on security. In M&A due diligence, the same orchestrated approach surfaces financial red flags that would otherwise require weeks of manual analysis.

“AI is a transformational
technology that can bring
immense good if used
properly. Ensuring it’s
used ethically can
reduce skepticism
and build the trust this
industry needs.”
Lotta Domonkos
CEO at Fimento

“Business use cases are more complex because they require cross-validation to get sophisticated results,” says Lotta. “Achieving that is only possible with the new breakthroughs in AI, it couldn’t really be done with old rules-based methods.”

The EU AI Act

A key priority for Fimento is the EU AI Act, which went into force on 1 August 2024 and becomes fully applicable in August 2026.

“We’re very pro the AI Act,” says Lotta. “AI is a transformational technology that can bring immense good if used properly. Ensuring it’s used ethically can reduce skepticism and build the trust this industry needs.”

Every decision Fimento’s agents reach is fully documented and logged, with complete traceability and auditability, compliance built into the architecture from day one, not retrofitted. For clients in asset management, this translates directly into operational impact: patterns that were previously impossible to detect are now surfaced automatically, saving significant time and sharpening decision-making.

More data = better results

Enacting Europe’s FiDA (Financial Data Access) proposal would strengthen AI accuracy by enabling the sharing of all financial data: mortgages, pensions, loans, insurance, and savings painting a far more comprehensive picture than PSD2 alone.

“It’s taken quite long for FiDA to gain traction, and Fimento is eager to provide whatever help is needed to move this forward,” says Lotta.

In the meantime, Fimento’s team has found ways to access a wide variety of data sources, ensuring its agentic solution delivers the depth and accuracy its clients depend on today.
