As Web3 becomes everyday part of our lingo, we increasingly see a polarized sentiment between centralization and decentralization. On one side the purists who defend the virtues of decentralization as the only way to create a fair and transparent financial system for all claim that this is also the only way to preserve liberal democracy. On the other side, traditionalists who stress that to preserve accountability of the financial system, control and governance must fall on a few centralized institutions.
Amidst this ideological battle, we recently had the opportunity to hear a refreshing and balanced take on the matter from a founder that sees a future where both centralization and decentralization can compliment each other. During our recent visit to Iceland we had the opportunity to sit down with Oli Torfason, Founder of Mojoflower, an Icelandic Web3 company intent in building a shareholder registry on Web3 that tokenises company shares and dispenses them into a digital wallet.
